Pregnant Schmamey Week 7

I am not sure how often I will blog this little series, but God willing, it will result in a healthy baby being added to my family.  I plan on blogging on my Dr. visits so I can be sure to have those interesting little tid-bits of information to share with you, so that means it will be monthly until week 32, then it will be bi-monthly, then at week 37 it will be weekly, up until you get the blog about this journey being over.

Keep in mind I am only 7 weeks so this means that there is still a high percentage rate of miscarriage.  This also means I have no baby bump, just bloating and pudge.  So.  No pictures until at least week 14.  Not because I will be showing, I usually don't look "pregnant" until week 20... but because at week 14 you will at least be able to see that a baby bump is trying to emerge... rather than right now, when it just looks like I can't lay off the fried chicken.

So how fat is Amy getting?  Well.  All of my jeans are tight.  BAH! ha.  I don't even like to think about going out because I look at my closet and think, what in the heck am I going to wear?  Ha ha ha.  I started this pregnancy at 135 lbs... I think I am tipping the scales at 138 right now.  Not good.  I have already put on 3 lbs.  I do not want to end this pregnancy any heavier than 155 lbs so you have my goal, let's see if I can accomplish it.

I have a nature trail right by my house so I have been walking about 2 miles daily.
My symptoms, I won't share all of them with you ;) ha, but for the most part have been a complete lack of energy, bloating, a bit of cramping, insomnia, bouts of nausea here and there, hunger, and sonar nose.

What is sonar nose, you may ask?  Well, I don't know about any other preggos, but when I am expecting my sense of smell goes haywire.  With Lindsey I wanted to smell freshly bleached whites coming out of the washer and lemon dish soap.  I don't remember with Brendan what I liked to smell, but this one, I have already found that wet pavement smells heavenly.  I know.  Weird.  We'll just have to wait and see what other smells grab my attention.

I have called to get in with the OB that delivered both my son and my daughter so I will probably have another update for you after that first appointment, but until then... I hope you enjoyed my pregnancy TMI.

  2. I wish I was 135lbs when I started this pregnancy! I still had a ways to go to lose my weight from the first time around. Oh well. It's so hard to exercise and stay healthy when your preggo. You feel too much like crap to take a while and French fries sound like such a better idea than an apple. Hang in there and you'll be fine!

I can't wait to hear more! I've been trying to keep my symptoms under the radar too, they haven't been very pleasant to have or to hear about lol.

    Good luck!

  3. I'm so excited for you :) I love hearing all the details. My friend is due any day (Which I probably already told you) and I got to feel baby move a few weeks back which was funny especially when I told bump to stop fidgeting so Mum could get comfy and she did that was kinda funny.

  6. I hope you keep up these posts! I love reading them. I started showing so dang early. I had a little bump around 8 weeks. And, I believe I set a goal too. My doctor said she wanted me to gain 25 pounds because I was a little underweight to begin with ... I ended up gaining 60. Holy moly.

  7. Also, I totally understand sonar nose. It's really funny when you work in an office and someone an entire hallway away is making popcorn, and the smell is so strong that you can't stand it, and you take it upon yourself to march down there and offer to eat some, because you are pregnant and people who are not pregnant don't mess around with those that are. Haha.

Ps. I hope the nausea goes away :( I struggled with that the entire time. One thing that helped me is motion sickness bands. I wore those all the time and they helped combat it a little :)

  8. I have never heard of sonar nose! Hopefully it doesn't work in the other way as well, where bad smells are worse than normal.
I wish I had a trail like that around my home. It's lovely!
Glad to hear you are still doing well friend!

  9. As far as the clothes, What I ended up doing was buying a bunch of jersey dresses and maxi dresses from F21 because they cut them very generously and they're stretchy so they're comfy...also I wear a lot of leggings under those dresses...

  11. Not TMI...I've never experienced this so it's FUN hearing about everything like the smells and such! =) Keep on moving girl, those walks will do you wonders! My friend kept walking our local Mt. which is 4 miles when she was preggo & it kept her & the wee one so healthy! =)

  12. Oh I love this! It's one of my favorite things to live vicariously through other people's pregnancies and kiddos! Sonar nose sounds like fun! I love the smell of fresh rain, on pavement, on dirt, anything like that makes my heart happy!
Oh, and my pants are tight, because I like the fried chicken a bit too much, and I don't have anything fun or exciting to blame it on, so don't feel bad--enjoy it! You have an awesome excuse, I'm just fat! Hahaha! =)

  13. hahaha sonar nose! I remember that. I was sitting at a stop light with my windows rolled up and someone was sitting in the car next to me with their windows rolled up and I could smell their drink before I even saw it. Total weirdness!! Hopefully you'll stay within your goal weight, it's hard to regulate sometimes though, so don't beat yourself up. You're going to be gorgeous!!

  14. I am so praying for your health as well as the little eggo's health! Sonic smelling is wild...isn't things that happen to you so weird when your sharing your body with a life form thats growing within...thing I love best about preggie women...its so Sci fy!! :) As you know, because of my spine and general lack of unwant, I've been fixed and cannot create offspring (and the world takes a collective exhale of relief)...so you sharing your journey...no matter where it takes you is very special to me. Share away dahling...I always love knowing what is going on in Amy's world. :) Hearts, Janna Lynn

  15. haha! Those are some interesting smells. But I have no room to talk, I love the smell of Play-Doh and I am far, far, far from being pregnant. haha! I hope everything goes well and you don't miscarry. You're definitely in my prayers, pretty lady! <3

  16. Hope everything goes well for you I really do! I've never been pregnant so can't sympathise with the symptoms, I'm sure I will do though!

Missing your presence on twitter! :) x

  18. That is exciting. I totally know what you mean by sonar nose. When I was pregnant I was not able to eat my favorite foods because everything smelled gross to me. I was basically on a vegetarian diet when pregnant because the smell of meat I was not able to stand one bit and the taste was even worse. I cannot wait to read some more pregnancy stories. I am always told that each pregnancy is different.

  19. I'm so excited for this new baby! I can't wait to get the "it's time!" text, it will be here before you know it! My sonar nose made me sick every time I smelled seafood, particularly shrimp scampi! So Red Lobster was totally out! But the smell of bread...girl, I was SO there! And so was a 70 pound weight gain ha!
    Love you!!!

  21. It's so fun to read about other people's pregnancies! Seriously, because I have no idea what it's like (and won't for hopefully another three and a half years). I'm really not looking forward to sonar nose... I'm pretty attuned to smell as it is! Do these symptoms stick around for the whole pregnancy??

  24. I am so glad you have that nice walking trail so close. It will be so good for you to get out and walk. I had sonar nose but not for smells that necessarily smelled good to me. LOL

  25. Man you are teeny!! I don't even weigh 155!! haha. That is like my goal weight! I hope that you can stay within your goal though. I am nervous to get pregnant because I am pretty tall {5'10.5"} and I don't want to ever go over 200 lbs. Well I have been in the past... But I never want to go there again! I LOVE reading pregnancy blogs.. haha. I am kind of extremely baby hungry right now. But that is something that is in the very distant future.. Oh well. I hope your nausea doesn't get too bad! :)

  27. These little stories are always neat to read, because its 1st hand experience. The symptoms sound NO BUENO, but in the long run its for an amazing cause.

That trail by your house looks so pretty!

  29. This is a fun series, I hope you keep it up! I have never experienced any of this and have heard so many horror stories, so it'll be nice to read something about day-to-day. Cos right now, I am terrified to get pregnant.

That walk looks so lovely. I wish we had something like that close to our house. Or that we lived closer to you!

  30. Sonar nose! It's so interesting that you're craving smells. I think this is a great idea for a series and look forward to reading more. I've never had a baby, so can't relate to a lot of the things others can, but I'm definitely loving that you're demystifying pregnancy with your series!
