Eight Months

Why oh why is it quicker for 8 months to pass when you AREN'T pregnant?  It's unfair really. ha.  Well, 8 months has indeed passed and my little sugar bear (or butt head, it's according to how she's acting at the time) is growing up way too fast.

She is crawling as of yesterday.  It's so adorable.
She still hates mushy food, but loves mac and cheese.
She loves to be talked to.
She has 8 teeth!
She loves it when you help her stand up.
I lowered her crib because I woke up to her standing in her crib.
She is in 18 month clothing.
She loves to cuddle.
She is drinking from a sippie every now and then.
She loves the swimming pool.
She loves to watch the Olympics especially gymnastics.
She does indeed love climbing all over me and laughing at her brother and sister.

I hope I didn't miss anything.  Here are some snapshots I took for her 8th month.

Summer Bucket List

I saw this done on another blog.  The Summer Bucket List.  I thought, what a great idea.  So here is my summer bucket list.  Before school starts these are the five things I want to do before jumping back into school.

1. Silver Dollar City - This will be happening this Saturday with my mom and dad.  I plan on having a teriffic day and taking lots of pictures.  May even lug along my serious camera.

2. Photo Outing - I want to do this on Sunday after church sometime... Take the kids out to the Galloway Trail and take a bunch of pictures.

3. Late Movie Night - Go all out.  Popcorn, candy, movies, camp out in the living room.  Might do this on Friday

4. Swimming - Don't know if I can make this one happen or not, but I'm sure going to try.  It just costs so much to take the kids swimming.  I may do this on Monday if I can scrounge up the funding.

5. The Park - Take the kids to park for a picnic lunch and play time for a few hours.

After these things are done, then I will be content to start school on Saturday the 18th.  The kids start school on the 16th.  I will try and blog about my bucket list adventures.  I will also be blogging about Avery's 8th month and Bren's first day of Kindergarten!  So much goodness coming up.

Laters.  Enjoy the rest of your summer break!

Avery is 7 Months Old Today

This first year is already over half over!  It's such irony that 7 months of a pregnancy can seem like an eternity and 7 months of your baby's life seems to go way too fast.  It's unfair really!

Avery has so many teeth coming in right now.  I feel so bad for her.  She has 4 coming in on top and she already has 3 broken through on bottom.

She is rolling all over the place and seems to be showing signs that she wants to crawl.

She HATES mushy baby food!  She will not eat baby cereal or the 1st stage baby food.  She pushes it right back out with her tongue, but she LOVES those cereal puffs and she loves to feed herself anything that I will give her that she won't choke on.

She is 21.7 lbs!  Which puts her in the 100 percentile for babies her age.  She is 27.5 inches long, which makes her my tallest baby at this point and she is in the 95 percentile in height.

She fits in 12-18 month clothing.

She loves to be held.  She is by far my clingiest baby.  She has been my toughest baby too.  She requires a lot of attention. I don't know how much of that has to do with teething though.  She loves to be talked to and held upside down.

She still likes to listen to Mumford and Sons "Sigh No More" when she is upset.  It calms her right down.  She even smiles when she first hears it, it's cute.

She loves to listen to daddy play the guitar and sing.

She alternates days on whether she is a daddy's girl or mommy's girl.

She started sleeping through the night a couple weeks ago, but she will still wake up needing a pacifier reinsertion.

Just in case I didn't update you all, she doesn't have a hernia, the CT scan showed a normal chest, so no surgery and for that I am thankful.

7 Months.

On Turning Thirty-Three

Well, that happened fast.  June 15th was my birthday.  Thirty-Three years of my life.  Gone.  Just like that.  What is it about exiting high school that activates hyper drive on the speed that life passes you by?  Seriously, growing up, it seems like it will never happen - you know, growing up.  Adulthood feels like a dream that will never be realized, but it really is just a feeling, because adulthood happens and then before you know it, you are a senior citizen.  You are probably thinking, "Jeeze, Amy, being a little melodramatic there."  Not really.  Life goes by DANG fast.  How fast is "dang" fast?  I don't know the exact specs really, just take my word for it.  Okay?

No matter how old I get, I think I will always do kid things to celebrate my birthday.  The year before last, I went roller skating.  It was fantastic.  Then last year I ate at Lamberts, a place that throws rolls at you.  This year, I went to Incredible Pizza Company and I had so much fun playing skee ball and bumper cars.  Seriously, a fun birthday.  My husband made my cake again and it was the best.  He used a strawberry cake mix but made the icing from scratch and used my favorite candy for decoration... LOVE!

Today was a family reunion.  I had such a great time talking with more distant relatives and also hanging out with my mom and grandma.  The kids had fun in my mom's 3 ft deep pool and I had fun eating myself to oblivion.  I was on a see it eat it diet.  I don't think it worked too well for me, but it sure tasted good.

Avery is 6 months Old!!!

I can't believe this has happened so fast. I love her so much. She is so big and so chubby and so awesome.

She has 2 teeth already.... she got them at 5 months and 1 week. It was really funny because she had her well baby and I told the pediatrician that I thought she was teething and she told me that Avery wouldn't get her teeth until 6 or 7 months.  Well, looks like mommy instincts were right on this one.

  • She is picking things up very well. Switching them up from one hand to the other.  Even pinching things between her finger and thumb
  • She is rolling over from back to front.
  • She hates being on her stomach still.
  • She is standing up pretty strong with help from us.
  • She is sitting up very well, but will topple over after about 5 minutes ha.  She has a lot of weight to balance.
  • She loves to squeal and say ga, da, hey and guh.  She has a pretty cute giggle as well.
  • She is already fitting in 12 month clothing.  Length and Width wise.  95% in both.  She weighed in at 20lbs already at her visit to the specialist. Big girl.  They accused me of not feeding her (Obviously they were joking)

One of the really crazy things is that she has to have a CT scan on the 27th of June.  When she had RSV a couple months ago, she had to have some x-rays because of the possibility of pneumonia, and they found a mass that looks like it could be a Morgagni hernia.  If this is what she has, she will have to have surgery, which I am freaking out about.  I don't want her to have surgery at such a young age.  The main thing is that I want her to be healthy, so whatever it takes.

Avery is 5 months! and FIIIINALS!

Ok, so she really turns 5 months in 2 days, but still! It's crazy that almost 5 months has passed since I was 1 week and 1 day past my due date, in the hospital bringing this beautiful baby girl into the world. She is by far my most difficult baby but she makes up for it in cuteness. So, here she is... Avery 5 monthsAvery 5 monthsAvery 5 monthsWhat is she doing? Not much different. She has rolled over from back to front. She hates tummy time, totally different from my other two, they loved it, so I don't think she will be rolling over from tummy to back anytime soon. She is using her hands so much more. She will grab and hit at toys. She loves to kick her legs and when she is going to be picked up you can tell she gets super excited. She loves fart noises and raspberries. She is very ticklish on her ribs and neck. She can already fit into a lot 12 month shirts. She is very chubby ha. I didn't think it was possible for a baby to be chubbier than my Lindsey was, but Avery is a lot chubbier ha. She had a visit with her pediatrician last week and she was 18.6 lbs! 26 inches long! Big girl.
She LOVES Mumford and Sons.  If she is fussy, I can put on "Sigh No More" and she calms down within seconds.  I don't know what it is about them, all I can say is she has a great ear for good music.

I am facing finals.  My first one is this coming Saturday I will be taking my Anatomy Physiology Lab and Lecture final.  UGH.  This week is going to be stressful.  Next week is going to be somewhat stressful.  After I get A&P done, I will feel much better.

Have a great week everyone.

Avery Claire is 4 Months Old.

Time is flying away and Avery is 4 months old.
She is trying so hard to get mobile, but she wants NOTHING to do with tummy time.
She still isn't rolling over.
She is however, pulling herself up on me when I sit her down in my lap facing me.
She loves it when we hold her up and let her stand up on our laps.
She loves tickles and funny noises.
She loves music. VERY MUCH... it's like magic with her.
I think she is teething.
She has skipped 3-6 month clothing altogether and is currently wearing 6-9 month clothes. She's our little chunker.

I tried to do a session with her, but I was dumb and waited till it was her nap time ha. She was fussy so I had Dave come in and help. I like them though. Avery 4 MonthsAvery 4 MonthsAvery 4 MonthsAvery 4 MonthsAvery 4 MonthsAvery 4 Months
